Lisa chooses a design

Once the tesserae is laid Lisa takes the piece out to the sun deck to grout

Each piece is fully covered with grout and left to set up

Once the grout has begun to set, Lisa removes the extra grout from the surface with a sponge

As the grout is removed, the image becomes cohesive and begins to show signs of how it will look in it’s finished form

Grouting indicates the completion of the tesserae phase, but there is still much to be done, including adding jewelry, hand painting and finally sealing
